The Meridian Parks and Recreation Department’s mission is to enhance the community’s quality of life by providing innovatively designed parks, connected pathways, and diverse recreational opportunities for all citizens.

Volunteering with the City of Meridian gives you the opportunity to share your time, skills, and enthusiasm in building a stronger, more connected community. From supporting special events to greeting visitors at City Hall, or beautifying our parks, your efforts make a meaningful difference.

Unplug and Be Outside


Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Kleiner Park 

Volunteers needed for set up, information table, activity help and tear down between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Sparklight Movie Night


Every other Friday night starting May 30, 2025, in Settlers Park.

Volunteers are needed to help set up, greet and wrist band guests and tear- down.  

Shift is from 6:15 pm - midnight (or close of movie)

Christmas Volunteer Opportunities

Winter Lights Parade


Friday, December 5, 2025 in Downtown Meridian

Help with the parade.  We need 100+ volunteers for the parade safety staff.   

  • Set-up: 3:00 - 6:00 pm
  • Parade Line-up: 4:00 - 7:00 pm
  • Street Closure: 6:30 - 8:30 pm
  • Crowd Management: 6:30 - 8:30 pm 
  • Tear Down / Clean Up: 8:00 - 10 pm

 

Children's Winterland Festival


Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Meridian Homecourt 

Help with Christmas themed crafts and games for this festive event for children in the community.

  • First Shift: 8:00 am - 11:30 am
  • Second Shift:  11:30 - 2:30 pm
