City of Meridian alcohol license applications (New, Renewal and Owner or Location Transfers) must be submitted with all required documentation and fees to the City Clerk’s office. Those applications are routed to key departments within the city for review and approval. (There are special circumstances when City Council must approve of alcohol license applications. Specifically, if an establishment is located within 300’ of a school or church).
It is a LEGAL requirement for the State, County AND CITY licenses to be up to date and in place before selling/serving can begin. regardless of if the license is New, Renewal, Transfer of Location or Owner, ALL THREE AGENCIES must approve and update licensure.
All three licensing authorities must approve New Alcohol Licenses, Renewals and Transfers for the license to be considered valid.
Alcohol License Renewal Time Period:
Alcohol Beverage Licenses are valid from July 1st to June 30th and must be renewed annually by June 30th.

Wine – Retail (not to be consumed on premise) $200.00
Transferring a license:
Premise: Transfer of alcohol license applies when the owner is the same but the location changes.
Owner: Transfer of alcohol license applies when the location is the same but the owner changes.
- In the case of an owner and location transfer, a new alcohol license must be obtained.
